Die Setter (Utility Operator)The Gund Company has an immediate opening at our Noblesville, Indianapolis manufacturing plant for a full-time Die Setter to join our team!Shift: 2pm – 10:30 (M-F)Starting Hourly Wage: $26.00+ /hour plus a 15% Shift PremiumPlant/Work Location Address: Noblesville, INSince 1951, The Gund Company has been a family-owned manufacturer and fabricator of engineered material solutions specializing in customized electrical insulation parts. We take a consultative, engineering approach to understanding customer needs and have a reputation for outstanding customer service and quality.Job Summary Die SetterDie setter is responsible for installing, aligning, adjusting, and removing dies used in mechanical stamping presses. Dies are precision tools designed to cut and form non-metallic material. This role ensures that production equipment is properly prepared to meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The Die Setter works closely with machine operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure consistent product output.Duties Die SetterInstalling dies into mechanical stamping pressesAligning and securing dies to exact specificationsAdjusting settings (ram, timing, stroke length)Inspecting sample parts to ensure quality and tolerances are metTroubleshooting defects like misalignment, cracks, or incomplete formationMaintaining and inspecting dies for wear or damageFollowing safety procedures due to heavy tooling and high-force equipmentOther duties as assigned.RequirementsRequired:High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and relatable experience to TGC's manufacturing machinery and processes.Experience with (insert the department and/or type(s) of machines) or similar equipment.Strong basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.).Flexibility to work overtime and adjust to emergency production needs.Preferred:Familiarity with reading blueprints and technical drawings.Knowledge of GD&TWork Environment Utility Operator IIThis role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals.Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.BenefitsPaid Time Off (PTO) and Paid HolidaysComprehensive benefits package (Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability).401(k) plan with a 50% employer match.Ongoing training and development programs.Join a company that values your contribution and invests in your future.
