nMeadow Gold has immediate job openings for a skilled Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repair services on different types of fleet vehicles under DOT and company regulations. In this role, the person will also perform preventive fleet maintenance and diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic systems to identify root causes of fluctuating failures/conditions.

n nJob Duties and Responsibilities
nnnPerform basic vehicle and preventive maintenance, component replacements, and minor repairs
n
nnMaintain, repair, inspect, and/or replace brakes, steering mechanisms, springs, air bags, lights, air conditioners, water, fuel, oil, air filters, coolant and chemicals, transmissions, tire air pressure, tire tread, tires, chassis, drive lines, u-joints, air tanks, batteries, air lines, power cords, wipers, mirrors, drive train components, or other equipment as necessary
n
nnPerform facility maintenance duties
n
nnUse shop management system and other electronic systems available
n
nnDiagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
n
nnIdentify root cause of “minor” failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
n
nnInteract with drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
n
nnWork in accordance with all federal, state, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT)
n
nnComplete work orders and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining high quality standards in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
n
nnRespond to accidents or inoperable vehicles to transport equipment back to shop for repair, if appropriate
n
nnKeep management informed of safety, operator, and equipment observations and concerns
n
nnAssist in identifying opportunities to improve processes, utilizing continuous improvement mindset
n
nnMaintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area which may include wearing of all required personal protective equipment in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

nRequirements
nnnHigh school diploma or GED preferred
n
nnRefrigeration license preferred
n
nnPreferred experience with INSITE, DL and NAVSTAR service tools
n
nnExperience with FWHA / BIT requirements.
n
nnExperienced with brake systems or certified with BENDIX /WABCO.
n
nnMust be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
n
nnAble to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
n
nnMust be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach and crawl and possibly sit for virtually the entire shift
n
nnAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others
n
nnMust be able to work in a dusty, greasy environment, with moderate noise and cold and hot temperature ranges
n
nnMust be able to follow all required work safe practices
n
nnMust be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays
