Heavy Diesel Field Service Technician
If you enjoy troubleshooting complex diesel equipment, working independently, and getting out of the shop rather than spending your day on repetitive PMs, this could be a strong fit.
We're partnering with a well-established transportation and equipment services organization that is looking to add a Heavy Diesel Field Service Technician to their team. This position offers a mix of diagnostic work, emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and customer interaction while remaining local to the area.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet equipmentRespond to roadside service calls and unscheduled breakdownsComplete preventative maintenance and DOT inspectionsTroubleshoot and repair engine, electrical, brake, HVAC, emissions, suspension, and trailer systemsMaintain accurate repair and service documentationManage inventory and parts utilized from service vehicleCommunicate effectively with operators, dispatchers, and customers regarding equipment status and repairs Equipment Serviced
Heavy-duty commercial trucksTractor-trailers and fleet vehiclesDry van and specialty trailersMunicipal and commercial diesel equipment Qualifications
Previous diesel mechanic or heavy equipment repair experienceAbility to perform diagnostics and repairs with limited supervisionExperience working on trailers and heavy-duty truck systems preferredStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsOwn basic mechanic hand toolsComfortable working both indoors and outdoorsA CDL is preferred, but not required. Candidates with strong diesel repair experience who are interested in obtaining a CDL may be considered. Compensation & Benefits
$25-$33/hour depending on experienceOvertime opportunities availablePrimarily Monday-Friday daytime scheduleAdditional pay for occasional emergency or after-hours calls
Pay Details: $25.00 to $33.00 per hour
