nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES of a Diesel Mechanic Technician:
❖ Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs to Class 6-8 trucks (light and heavy) in a mobile/field environment
n❖ Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Power steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions
n(manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc
n❖ Use basic hand tools, precision instruments, as well as power tools, welding equipment, and jacks
n❖ Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion
n❖ Work with a high degree of independence
n❖ Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times
n❖ Obtain parts from approved local and vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed
nRequirements of a Diesel Technician:
n
n3 + Years of Diesel Mechanic Experience
nValid Driver’s License required. CDL-A but not required
nMust provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions
nDemonstrate ability to work independently, multi-task and apply initiative
nExcellent organizational skills
nExcellent verbal communication skills
nUnderstand and implement instructions, guidelines, and pertinent information necessary to complete daily tasks and assignments
nMust be able to move, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
nMust be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. with regularity and up to 100 lbs. on occasion
