Two Years experience in food services hospital setting preferred. Ability to be ServSafe Certified within 3 months of hire. Also, must re-certify every 3 years.Essential Functions Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for patients, staff, visitors, and special functions. Reviews menus to determine types and quantities of food needed. Prepares quality food in sufficient quantities to cover all service requirements. Coordinates timing of preparation in order to meet service schedules for patients, staff and visitors. Adheres to standardized recipes and portion control to prevent food waste and control food cost. Provides maintenance and sanitation of equipment in food production areas. Adheres to sanitation and food safety standards (HACCP). Participates in the process of ordering supplies. Gives direction to personnel assisting in food preparation. Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patients in performance of duties and responsibilities. Orients and mentors new staff members.
