Job description
Department: Bariatric Clinic
nSchedule: 16 hours weekly
nLocation: Madison Heights, MI
nnnProvide medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
n
nnAssess patients for nutritional status. Provide interventions/treatments including diet therapy, counseling or specialized nutrition supplements. - Collaborate with physicians, nursing and ancillary services such as speech pathology or physical therapy.
n
nnMonitor tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommend therapy adjustments as necessary. Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluate effectiveness of treatments.
n
nnProvide nutrition information for the community that may include public speaking, news releases and other forms of publications.
n
nnResearch and take initiatives to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems. -
n
nnAssist in monitoring meals including intake, diet compliance and tray accuracy. Maintain sanitation of food preparation area(s) through planned and unannounced inspections.

n n; CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED
nnnDietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. - Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
n
nnBLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
n
nnEducator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.
n
n nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
nnnHigh School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

nnBariatric experience preferred
