nWork Schedule: Days with Weekend and Holiday Rotation
nHours: Variable start and end times
nSummary:
nCollaborates with members of the health care team to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and nutrition education to patients. Identifies patients at nutrition risk and assesses nutrient requirements according to age and disease specific needs. Develops and implements nutrition care plans for all assigned patients. Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of MNT intervention.
nResponsibilities:
nEDUCATION
nnnBS Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics plus internship or other education to meet requirements for registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
n
nnRegistration with the CDR
n
nnRegistered Dietitian or registration eligible. Registration must be obtained within 6 months of employment
n
nnCertified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) with New York State to obtained within 1 st year of employment
n
nnActive membership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred
n
n nEXPERIENCE
nn1 year experience preferred
n nKNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
nnMust possess or have ability to learn basic computer skills
n nWORKING CONDITIONS
nnnOccasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
n
nnTravel between Catholic Health System facilities may be required
n
nnOccasional evenings may be required for nutrition counseling appointments or classes
n
n
