Dining Services AssistantLooking for a part-time role where you can make someone's day—one meal and one smile at a time? At Pine Haven Christian Home, our Dining Services Assistants are a key part of creating a warm, welcoming experience for our residents. From serving meals with a friendly touch to helping keep our dining spaces clean and inviting, you'll play an important role in daily life here. You'll work alongside a supportive team, build meaningful connections, and bring a little extra joy to every table. If you enjoy working with people and want a job that feels rewarding and purposeful, Pine Haven is the place for you.Essential duties and responsibilities:Serve meals that are appetizing, based on menu selections and preferences, in a timely manner to residentsCook/Retherm (reheat) food to proper serving temperaturesPrepare and serve food in proper portions and proper consistencies (example: mechanical soft, pureed) according to the resident's dietary restrictionsSet up prior to meals, pour beverages, and place appropriate condiments on tablesBus tables following mealsPerform dish washing and cleaning procedures as directed, including: cleaning work tables, refrigerators/freezers, sweeping and mopping floors, returning clean utensils and dishes to proper storage areasDeliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areasAssist in all other scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established processesCarry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardsFollow proper sanitation and safety guidelinesFollow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure that a sanitary environment is always maintainedAttend and participate in required training, conducted at time of hire and/or annually, that will include training designed to assure resident safety: i.e. fire safety, missing resident, evacuations, disaster response, etc.Report any observed changes in a resident's needs and/or condition immediately to a license nurse or manager as appropriateRequirements:Must be at least 16 years of ageExperience in food service is requiredMaintain good attendance, including timely arrivalSupport positive working relationships with fellow team membersInterreact, communicate, and collaborate effectively with othersAttention to detail, time management, and organizational skills requiredAbility to work in a fast paced rapidly changing environmentKnowledge of or ability to learn proper food handling techniques and various diets (regular, mechanical soft, puree)Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.Must comply with Pine Haven's policiesUnderstands, supports, and is committed to Pine Haven's Mission, Vision and Values
