Direct Care Worker (DCW) – Sellersville, PA 18960Location: Sellersville, Bucks County, PA 18960 Employment Type: Full-Time | Part-Time | Live-In | Flexible Scheduling Company: Familiar Roads Home HealthcareJob SummaryA Direct Care Worker (DCW) provides essential personal care and home support services to seniors in the Sellersville area. Under supervision, the DCW assists with hygiene, dressing, mobility, meal support, and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment that promotes each client's dignity and independence.Organizational RelationshipReports to the designated supervisor.Risk of Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne PathogensCategory B – Limited exposure.QualificationsCandidates must meet at least one of the following Pennsylvania state-approved training standards:Completion of a competency exam developed by the agency or qualified entityCompletion of a training program that meets all state regulationsParticipation in a publicly funded Medicaid Waiver or similar home/community-based programCompletion of a PA Department of Health (DOH)-recognized trainingAdditional Requirements:2–4 years of experience working with seniors in a home care settingReliable and verifiable professional referencesCurrent CPR certificationMust pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical examPractices good hygiene and presents professionallySpeaks, reads, and writes English fluentlyReliable transportation is preferredKey ResponsibilitiesPersonal Services – Assists With:Bathing (tub, shower, or bed-bound clients)Grooming, oral hygiene, and routine hair/nail careDressing, toileting, and feedingTransferring, mobility assistance, and repositioningRoutine skin care and lotion applicationMedication remindersHomemaking – Assists With:Meal planning and preparation, including special dietary needsFeeding as neededChanging linens (occupied and unoccupied beds)Laundry for clientLight housekeeping: dishes, dusting, vacuuming in client-used spacesGrocery shopping and listing suppliesDCWs Are Required To:Follow universal precautions and infection control protocolsMaintain strict confidentiality of client informationProvide only the services outlined in each client’s service planRespond appropriately to physical, emotional, and safety needsRecord services and submit documentation weeklyReport incidents or client status changes immediatelyFollow emergency procedures and all agency policiesParticipate in annual in-service trainingCommunicate with supervisors, clients, and families professionallyMaintain a positive attitude and presentable appearanceFunctional AbilitiesMust be able to lift/carry bundles up stairs (up to 10 lbs)Able to bend, stoop, and travel to client homesMust be able to hear and communicate clearly in EnglishBenefits:Competitive hourly payFlexible scheduling, including live-in opportunitiesSupportive team cultureOngoing training and career developmentFulfilling work that makes a true difference in the lives of seniorsApply today and become a valued member of the Familiar Roads team serving the Sellersville community (18960)!
