Job description
Direct Support ProfessionalJoin Child Serve as a Direct Support Professional, in this role you will be responsible for supporting children and young adults with daily living and encouraging their independence. Direct Support Professionals work with supervisors, therapists, nursing staff, and families in program development and implementation. Examples include assisting the children and young adults with becoming as independent as possible in personal care, preparing meals, caring for household, community exposure/involvement, and other life skills areas. Pay for this role is $ /hr.Our group homes have PRN, Part-time and Full-time openings with a variety of schedules.Support children or young adults in developing independence in personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and other life skillsProvide transportation assistance as neededAdminister treatments and medications as appropriate, with knowledge of schedules and dosagesFacilitate community involvement through recreational events, shopping trips, volunteer opportunities, and other activitiesPrevious work with children or adults with disabilities preferredMust be 18 years of age or olderAbility to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English languageMust be willing/able to become an approved driver for ChildServeCertified Medication Aide (CMA), Medication Manager, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certifications helpfulAbility to lift up-to 35 lbs. be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and standNot sure if you hit 100% of the position expectations?
