Direct Support Professional - BaldwinsvilleSalary Range $16.00 - $30.00 Hourly Position Type Full-Time/Part-Time Category Nonprofit - Social ServicesDescriptionAre you looking for a rewarding way to make a difference while making a living? You can make a difference in the life of someone special! Advocates is looking for a creative and compassionate Direct Support Professional (Mentor/1:1 support staff) to work with a gifted young man with a developmental disability. In this critical role, you will assist him with his activities of daily living and getting ready for program in the morning. The mentor will also help him to learn independent living skills and teach him skills to communicate and interact with others.The ideal candidate has some type of PCA, CNA, or nursing background, for periodic non-medical personal care needs, is reliable, will have effective communication and leadership skills, patience, and can be flexible. Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus. Please respond with a resume or summary of experience.Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.Hours and days of workMonday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (3:30 PM - 7:30 PM)Pay rate: $30.00 per hour when providing direct support.
