Direct Support ProfessionalJoin Help at Home as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and make a meaningful difference in your community. You will provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live safely, independently, and with dignity in their homes and communities.Pay and BenefitsCompetitive pay: $18-$20 per hourExperience-based starting pay: Relevant direct support, caregiving, or healthcare experience is considered when determining your starting rate within the posted range$1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires. *Eligibility and payout terms applyFlexible scheduling optionsPaid training and career development opportunitiesHealth benefits, paid time off, and additional cash bonus opportunities for eligible employeesMileage reimbursement for eligible travelYour exact starting rate may also vary based on the type of support provided, assigned schedule, and work location.What You'll DoAs a Direct Support Professional, you will help individuals build daily living skills, participate in their communities, and work toward their personal goals.Responsibilities may include:Reading, understanding, and following each individual's Individual Support PlanReporting updates, progress, and concerns to the IDD Program SpecialistAssisting with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and transportationEncouraging participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and other community activitiesSupporting individuals as they work toward personal goals and greater independencePromoting personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respectAccurately documenting services, activities, and progressCommunicating with team members to provide consistent, high-quality supportRequired QualificationsCandidates must be at least 18 years old and meet at least one of the following requirements:High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a state-approved training programDemonstrated competency and a passing score on the required written competency testCandidates must also have:The ability to successfully complete required background checks and in-service trainingA valid driver's licenseReliable transportation with proof of insurance, vehicle registration, and inspectionThe ability to provide safe and respectful support in individuals' homes and communitiesCompassion, reliability, and a commitment to helping othersWhy Help at Home?For more than 50 years, Help at Home has provided trusted, person-centered care in local communities.
