Direct Support ProfessionalPart Time, 17.50 hours per week $20.00 per hour - $20.00 per hourSummary Of DutiesAs a DSP, you will work directly with individuals with developmental/learning disabilities, providing services to the people we support so they can live independently and thrive in their communities. This could include, but is not limited to:Community integrationCommunity travel and transportationMoney management and budgetingAppropriate socialization/interactionsHealthy lifestyle skills/exerciseMedical appointments and understanding doctor's ordersAdditional skills needed to enable the individual to access the community and remain as independent as possibleOther instruction, services and supports as indicated by your supervisor.Skills & AbilitiesPossess good time management skillsAbility and desire to work as part of an interdisciplinary teamAbility to work 1-1 with an individual receiving servicesModerate level of written and oral communication skillsHigh level of interpersonal skillsKnowledge of behavioral techniques and developmental disabilities to assist in the care of individuals receiving servicesKnowledge of computer and ability to utilize various software programsSuccessful completion of First Aid, CPR, and Defensive Driving upon hire is required.Education & TrainingPreferred: One year pertinent experience in health and human service related field and experience with individuals with disabilitiesMinimum: High school diploma or equivalentValid New York State Driver's License in good standing and use of personal vehicle for transporting individuals receiving services.QualificationsSkillsBehavior Mgt Skills: NoviceKnowledge Of DD Pop: NoviceCommitment To Ind: NoviceBehaviorsPreferred: Dedicated Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrityEnthusiastic: Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interestEducationRequired: High School or better.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
