Direct Support Professional (DSP)We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) who present high behavioral and complex support needs in both Residential Homes and Day Program settings.This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, structured, and confident in managing challenging behaviors, while maintaining a person-centered, trauma-informed approach.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct care and supervision to individuals with IDD in residential and/or day program settingsSupport individuals with behavioral challenges, including implementing Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and de-escalation techniquesAssist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)Promote community integration and engagementMaintain a safe and structured environmentDocument services and incidents per DDS/DDA standardsCollaborate with interdisciplinary team membersFollow all health, safety, and regulatory requirementsBehavioral Support FocusAggression (verbal/physical)Elopement tendenciesSelf-injurious behaviorsEmotional dysregulationUse de-escalation and proactive strategiesQualificationsMust be at least 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum 2 years of experience supporting individuals with IDD and behavioral needsPass National and State Criminal Background ChecksMaintain eligibility under DOH/DDS/DDA regulationsAcceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)Ability to pass drug screeningValid Driver's License (preferred)DC Requirements (DDS)Complete criminal background checks through DC Department of Health (DOH)Meet DC Department on Disability Services (DDS) eligibility requirementsComplete required training prior to independent workMaryland Requirements (DDA)Complete Maryland State and FBI fingerprint-based background checksMeet Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) eligibility requirementsComplete required training and certification requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience in high behavioral settingsFamiliarity with DDS/DDA regulationsCPI or crisis intervention trainingRBT certification or working toward certificationRequired CertificationsCPR & First AidMedication AdministrationTB Test & PhysicalAll state-required clearances and trainingsCompensation & BenefitsOvertime opportunitiesHealth, Dental, Vision InsuranceHealth Saving Account (HSA)Paid Time Off401(k)Training and developmentJoin a mission-driven team committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with IDD.Salary Description $17.95-$19.25
