Direct Support ProfessionalsGroup Home- Opwdd Residential ServicesElmont, NYCatholic Charities of Long Island models the love of Jesus by offering dignified and compassionate care to poor and vulnerable neighbors of every faith and background. In-person service at more than 50 sites throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties is inspired by the Gospel call affirming the sacredness of every human life.CCLI is looking for Direct Service Professionals with generous hearts and a desire to contribute to the well-being of others to carry out our mission on Long Island. By joining our team, you will share in the joy of providing "care with dignity and life with hope" to our developmentally disabled group home residents.Responsibilities:Transport/safeguard residents on outingsCoach residents in skills development & administer medicationsProvide person-centered care including personal care as neededPerform household maintenance tasks, including meal preparationOther duties as assignedQualifications:A HS diploma/GEDValid NYS Driver's LicenseAbility to perform tasks that may require stooping, crouching, and 2-person lifting up to 250 pounds.Ability to maintain personal safety and respond appropriately in a calm, non-confrontational manner during an individual's physical or emotional outburst.Schedule:Part-time evening and On Call opportunities available. Typical staffing needs include:Base Rate of Pay: $21. per hour (Weekend differential pay is an additional $1.00/hr.)This rate of pay serves as a good faith estimate. Actual pay is based on a number of factors which may include a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and work location.
