Direct Support Professional I (DSP I)Momentum is hiring a Direct Support Professional I (DSP I) to provide support to adults with disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional I (DSP I), you will be responsible for the implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISP) that will lead to or continue to promote independence and personal skills, well assisting in providing a safe and secure home environment for persons supported in Momentum's Independent and Community Living Services program.Benefits (Part-time):Life Assistance ProgramPaid HolidaysPaid Vacation/Sick/Bereavement leaveCredit Union Benefits and DiscountsRetirement Plan (403B)DSP I Essential Responsibilities:Provides assistance with daily living skills in accordance with the persons supported schedule and Individual Service Plan (ISP)Assists with daily needs/tasks within persons supported homePrompts and provides assistance with medication management, as neededAssists persons supported in all aspects of personal care, including hygieneAssists persons supported in weight bearing and non-weight bearing transfers, as neededComplies with all Momentum policies, procedures, and regulationsPerforms other duties as assigned to meet departments and/or business needsDSP I Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or olderValid and current proof of legal right to drive in California; requiredHigh school diploma or equivalent; requiredMust have reliable phone/access to phone (monthly stipend)Minimum of one (1) year experience working with people with developmental and/or other disabilities; preferredMust be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in EnglishSuccessfully pass all post-offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United StatesAbility to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs., and transfer individualsUse of personal vehicle for assignments throughout service areas not normally assigned; highly preferredMust be available to travel throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties, as needed (mileage reimbursed)With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, Momentum is the largest nonprofit provider of direct support for individuals with disabilities in Southern California.Momentum is an equal opportunity employer and is required to comply with equal opportunity legislation in each jurisdiction in which it operates.
