At CSS we strive each day to live out our ABLE Core Value: Above and Beyond, Better Together, Lead Intentionally, and Empower Everyone.Position SummaryDirect Support Professionals at Community Support Services provide high quality, person centered, hands on support to individuals with a variety of developmental and/or physical disabilities. Hands-on support includes assistance in all activities of daily living as identified by an individual's habilitation team. These supports may include, but are not limited to, daily cleaning responsibilities, meal preparation, maintenance and administration of medications, transportation, assistance with personal hygiene and companionshipEssential FunctionsReview and Implementation of the Individualized Plan (ISP) and Behavior Support Plan (BSP).Provide support while demonstrating respect and dignity of the individual served by interacting with individuals served in a positive, person centered manner.Commitment to providing quality services to individuals and their families.Monitoring of individual physical and emotional health.Follow operational policies and procedures developed by the Agency for all areas of individual care.Submit all required documentation by the required deadlines.Maintain open, positive, person centered communication with Supervisor(s) and stakeholders.Attend all required trainings as scheduledAdhere to staffing rotation expectations as established by CSS policy and program processes.Must be able to transport individuals served during scheduled working hours.Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesConfidence in interaction with individuals of all ages and with a variety of disabilities.Good written and verbal communication skillsBe able to work independently and within a team atmosphereAbility to be flexible in all areasResourceful in accomplishing tasks and directivesProvide support without fostering dependenceMake defendable, common sense decisionsRequired EducationHigh School Diploma or GEDQualificationsA valid driver's license and good driving record, as well as proof of current auto insurance is required.Must have dependable transportation with fully functioning heat/air conditioning and fully functioning seatbelts for safety.Must pass all required federal, state and agency required background checks.Obtain and maintain all required training, including but not limited to, CPI Association requirements for physical intervention, CPR, First Aid Training, Medication Administration, ABA principals and implementation techniques in accordance with CSS policy.Physical RequirementsAll employees should possess the ability to:Lift 50 pounds or more on a repeated basis as required.Potentially bend, stoop, kneel, and twist repeatedly.Operate any required equipment with good dexterity.Traverse changing terrain.Periodically alternate between standing, sitting, and walking.
