Direct Support ProfessionalClassification: On-Call/Per Diem, Non-ExemptProgram/Department: Residential, OPWDDImmediate Supervisor: Residential SupervisorPosition Summary: As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you get to enhance quality of life for people with developmental disabilities by assisting, instructing, and supporting individuals living in our residences to be as independent as possible. Promote the health, safety and well-being of the individuals while building positive, meaningful relationships. Advocate for individuals in our residences to communicate their wants/needs, and integrate them into the community for recreation. Perform various tasks to promote a well-rounded environment by doing light housekeeping, helping individuals plan nutritious meals, and administering medications as needed. Participate in regularly scheduled trainings to enhance skills and knowledge to continue to support the individuals in the best way possible.Qualifications:Minimum Education, Training & Experience: Ability to perform all job functionsPreferred Education, Training & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Valid New York State driver's license that meets the Agency's driving policyEssential Skills and Abilities: Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Be a positive role model for people with disabilities and other staffSalary: $16 per hour starting rate Additional earnings available based on shift worked and successful completion of medication certification.A profession with purpose PSA Full Job Description Available Upon Request Benefits – Intandem Contact us for more InformationAn equal opportunity employer.
