Job description
Job TitlePromotes and fosters independent functioning, mature peer relationships and responsible decision-making.*Schedule Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM OR Sunday 9AM-5PM Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11PM-9AMAssists in house meetings once a week to ensure that all items are covered, including menu planning, chore assignment, problem solving peer disputes and recreational planning.Provide immediate intervention to defuse potentially volatile situations that may arise between residents.Assists residents in keeping their scheduled appointments.Assists residents in menu planning, shopping and cooking.Participates in admission and orientation of new residents.Completes all required documentation daily.Communicates important information to Supervisor and briefs the staff for the next shift.The overnight staff must be awake and alert throughout their shifts.Performs all other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDExperience with SED/MMR adolescents is desirableValid and clean NYS Driver LicensesAcceptable background clearance check through State Central register and compliance with health regulations for physical examination and mantoux testing.This position requires successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, which includes a written test and demonstration of the competency to perform physical restraints, as specified by the program and regulatory body.
