Job description

Harmony Biosciences is recruiting for a Director, AI and Business Enablement in our Plymouth Meeting location. The Director, AI & Business Enablement is responsible for Business process transformation within R&D and Commercial processes as well as translating enterprise AI strategy into practical, high-impact solutions that drive measurable business value across the organization. This role bridges the gap between AI/data science capabilities and business functions - including R&D and Commercial - by identifying process deficiencies, use cases, prioritizing initiatives, overseeing solution delivery, and driving adoption of AI tools and capabilities across the enterprise.

This individual will act as a key liaison between IT teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that AI investments are aligned with business priorities, compliant with pharma industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPPA, FDA, EMA, GxP, data privacy), and deliver tangible ROI. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical fluency, deep process knowledge, program management discipline, and strong change-management/stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

R&D Process Optimization & Transformation

Serve as a trusted advisor to R&D leadership (Clinical, Regulatory, Safety, Medical Affairs) on technology process improvement, digital enablement and AI.

Lead end-to-end technology process assessments and redesign initiatives across: Clinical, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Quality and Medical Affairs

Identify inefficiencies and implement standardized, scalable, and compliant technology process models.

Establish KPIs, process metrics, and continuous improvement frameworks.

Commercial Process Optimization & Transformation

Commercial technology, Analytics / BI / reporting

Hands‑on experience with Veeva, preferably in areas such as Veeva Vault and CRM

Familiarity with CRM analytics and customer engagement analytics

AI Solution Delivery & Business Enablement

Partner with business function leaders (R&D & Commercial) to identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI/ML use cases that address real business problems.

Translate business requirements into AI solution roadmaps, working closely with data science, data engineering, and IT teams to scope and deliver solutions.

Oversee end-to-end delivery of AI initiatives - from ideation and proof‑of‑concept through pilot, scale‑up, and production deployment.

Ensure AI solutions are designed with usability, scalability, and business adoption in mind, not just technical feasibility.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Life Sciences, Business, or related field required; Master's degree or MBA preferred

10+ years of experience in technology or digital transformation roles, with at least 2-3 years focused on AI solution delivery or enablement is required

Prior experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry strongly preferred, with familiarity with Clinical, Commercial, GxP, regulatory, and compliance considerations.

Demonstrated experience translating business needs into technical solutions and managing cross-functional delivery teams.

Good understanding and experience in Veeva Vault, CRM and Commercial Analytics

Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, generative AI, and data platforms (does not require hands‑on coding, but must be able to engage credibly with technical teams).

Experience building business cases, ROI models, and value‑tracking frameworks for technology initiatives.

Proven track record of driving adoption/change management for new technology or digital tools within complex organizations.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.

Strong program/project management skills; PMP, Agile/Scrum certification a plus.
