Job description

Associate Director / Director, Field Marketing

Location: Field-Based / In-Person (Wayne, PA)

Company: Palvella Therapeutics

Overview:

At Palvella Therapeutics, we’re focused on building the leading therapeutic company focused on rare genetic skin diseases with no approved therapies. Our QTORIN™ platform addresses issues in the development of targeted topical treatments including achieving therapeutic drug concentrations and chemical stability, while minimizing systemic absorption of the drug. Applied topically rather than orally, QTORIN™ has the power to transform the current treatment landscape and transform lives.

We are driven by a mission to serve patients who have been left without options, focusing our efforts where the unmet need is greatest. Everything we do is anchored in advancing treatments that can meaningfully change lives where no solutions currently exist.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Field Marketing, the (Associate) Director of Field Marketing will contribute to the launch of QTORIN™ rapamycin in microcystic lymphatic malformation (mLM), a rare vascular malformation presenting in the skin.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a rare disease where the marketplace was initially not well understood and can demonstrate how they personally made an impact. A strong launch track record and a demonstrated ability to establish relationships with physicians are required.

Key Responsibilities:

Thought Leader Engagement and Field Insights

Identify, map, and cultivate relationships with national, regional, and local thought leader MDs and APPs across dermatology, hematology-oncology, and related specialties to facilitate meaningful, insight-generating dialogue that informs brand strategy and medical/commercial planning.

Serve as a bridge, providing field insights to the brand team to inform strategy, and communicating the "why" to the field team.

Congress Strategy and Speaker Bureau Development

Execute end-to-end congress planning and execution, including booth presence, satellite symposia, advisory interactions, and clinician engagement at major medical meetings; ensure appropriate and compliant information sharing with medical affairs, marketing, and market access to ensure a coordinated, high-impact field and congress presence that is not duplicative.

Collaborate within field marketing and with the HQ marketing team to build a speaker bureau from the ground up, including criteria for selection, onboarding programs, training to approved materials, and ongoing performance evaluation.

Compliance and Launch Readiness

Ensure all field marketing activities are executed in strict accordance with OIG guidelines, PhRMA Code, FDA regulations, and company policies.

Be part of a team culture with operating norms, positive attitude, and performance standards that reflect urgency and a launch-ready mindset.

Qualifications:

Required:

10 years of commercial experience in biotech or pharma.

Prior work as a field marketer/thought leader liaison, engaging rare disease thought leaders in a commercial context, with experience building/managing speaker bureaus and executing congress strategies.

Strong understanding of the rare disease commercialization landscape, including diagnosis complexity, referral dynamics, and patient advocacy.

Proven ability to translate complex scientific and clinical insights into clear, innovative, and actionable commercial strategies.

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with strong execution focus and executive presence, and the ability to influence without authority.

Strong cross-functional skills with the ability to appropriately share information to increase customer satisfaction and align stakeholders.

Preferred:

Significant experience in rare disease, dermatology, and/or specialty markets.

Self-starter with the ability to deliver results in therapeutic areas with high unmet need.
