About Prime Finance

Prime Finance, founded in 2008, is a well‑established, diversified commercial real estate credit investment platform with more than $15 billion in assets under management. Prime Finance has two primary lending strategies that structure financing solutions ranging in size from $10 to $200+ million with teams in San Francisco, Chicago, and New York that originate loans and provide capital across the commercial real estate spectrum. In addition to our lending programs, Prime Finance is an active investor in investment grade and below‑investment grade CMBS both at original issuance and on the secondary market.

Job Summary

Prime Finance is seeking a seasoned institutional fundraising professional with a demonstrated history of raising capital across private credit, fixed income, and alternative credit strategies. This individual will play a critical role in expanding and deepening relationships with institutional investors, focusing on structured fixed income and commercial real estate strategies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong network of institutional investor relationships, deep knowledge of fixed income and credit markets, and a proven ability to articulate complex investment strategies to sophisticated investors. While familiarity with commercial real estate credit is beneficial, Prime Finance welcomes candidates whose fundraising experience has been developed across broader private credit, structured credit, corporate credit, asset‑backed finance, insurance asset management, or related alternative investment sectors.

Essential Functions

Develop and execute fundraising strategies targeting institutional investors across private credit, fixed‑income, structured credit, insurance, family offices, and other capital sources.

Own and manage the fundraising pipeline end‑to‑end, including sourcing opportunities, advancing prospects through diligence, coordinating internal resources, and driving commitments through closing.

Proactively cultivate and expand strong relationships with investors.

Partner with senior leadership to identify fundraising priorities, evaluate market opportunities, refine product positioning, and develop strategic investor coverage plans.

Collaborate with senior leadership and internal teams (Investments, Legal/Compliance, Finance/Reporting) to coordinate fundraising priorities, diligence responses, and investor communications and align fundraising efforts with firm objectives and market opportunities.

Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, marketing materials, and strategic communications that effectively articulate the firm’s investment capabilities, competitive advantages, and market positioning to prospective investors, anticipating key questions.

Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective and existing investors by maintaining a deep understanding of market conditions, portfolio construction considerations, and evolving institutional investment priorities.

Monitor market trends, competitor activity, investor sentiment, and capital flows across private credit and fixed‑income markets to inform fundraising strategy and product development efforts.

Represent Prime Finance in investor meetings, onsite visits, and industry events, effectively articulating the firm’s strategies and positioning with institutional credibility.

Maintain thorough investor interaction notes, pipeline tracking, and follow‑ups into relevant CRM system to support forecasting and visibility for senior leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; additional degrees or certifications a plus but not required.

Minimum fifteen (15) years of industry experience with 10 years of fundraising experience.

Demonstrated track record raising capital from institutional investors for private credit, structured credit, fixed income alternative, opportunistic credit, asset‑backed finance, insurance asset management, or related investment strategies. Existing relationships with institutional allocators, consultants, insurance companies, pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, and wealth platforms strongly preferred.

Experience fundraising for private credit, fixed income, structured credit, or alternative credit strategies is strongly preferred. Prior real‑estate credit experience is beneficial but not required. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to understand and communicate complex credit investment strategies across sectors and asset classes. Highly collaborative with the ability to partner effectively across teams and with senior leadership.

Energetic and hands‑on working style, with willingness to engage directly in execution as needed.

Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex investment strategies and respond confidently to sophisticated investor inquiries.

Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to navigate fundraising discussions, manage investor expectations, and advance capital commitments in a disciplined and professional manner.

Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities and complex institutional relationships, and represent the firm with current and prospective investors.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected annual base salary range for this role is $250,000 - $275,000. Actual base salary will be determined by several components, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills and qualifications, base salary of internal peers, and geographic location.
