Job description
Silverman Consulting is a restructuring, advisory, insolvency, and M&A advisory firm. For more than three decades, we've helped underperforming and distressed companies return to profitability—combining deep financial and managerial experience with the interpersonal skills to connect with everyone from the C-suite to the warehouse floor. Our engagements move fast: we get the facts, build a short-term liquidity plan, and drive a long-term strategy to restore performance, often on tight deadlines and in high-stakes situations.
Our practice areas
Restructuring — building a better foundation for tomorrow
Advisory — seasoned professionals by your side
Insolvency — maximizing value for all stakeholders
M&A Advisory — helping maximize opportunity at every turn
We're hiring a Director to lead engagements end-to-end — owning strategy, managing staff, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients, lenders, and other stakeholders.
What you'll do
Own overall engagement management: scope, execution, and deliverables, across multiple concurrent engagements
Lead strategy in collaboration with Partners and Associates to solve complex financial and operational issues quickly
Manage and train staff, ensuring deliverables are accurate, efficient, and on deadline
Quickly assess a client's situation and advise Partners on the best path to preserve value for all stakeholders
Build trusted‑advisor relationships with clients and extend the scope of engagements over time
Communicate frequently with internal teams and client stakeholders on milestones and deadlines
Lead or support a firm committee (marketing, training, or recruiting) and help coach Associates
Travel to client sites as needed (roughly 30% on average, varies by engagement)
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from a highly regarded university, high GPA (MBA, CPA, CTP, or CFA a plus)
8+ years of experience, including at least 3 years of restructuring experience at a restructuring firm
Track record leading multiple turnaround/restructuring engagements and managing engagement staff
Demonstrated success across restructuring, profit‑improvement, and insolvency engagements
Deep, hands‑on experience with 3‑statement and liquidity modeling
Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with large or incomplete data sets to build custom financial analysis
Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience engaging stakeholders from C-suite executives to warehouse personnel
High energy and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, unstructured, high‑pressure environment
Excellent written and organizational skills
Willingness to travel on short notice and be in the office when not on‑site
