Job description
For our client, we are seeking a Director, DevOps & Cloud Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.
This role will oversee DevOps, platform engineering, and quality engineering functions that support secure, reliable, and scalable technology delivery. You will guide a distributed team, strengthen release processes, and help shape engineering practices that improve developer experience and operational performance. The position partners closely with engineering leadership to advance CI/CD automation, infrastructure practices, and compliance in a regulated healthcare environment. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to elevate quality, resilience, and speed across the software delivery lifecycle.
Location: New York, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $250, 000+ annually
Responsibilities
Lead and inspire a distributed QA and DevOps team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
Define quality engineering strategies, including automation frameworks and quality metrics
Own the roadmap for DevOps and platform engineering, driving CI/CD and deployment automation
Collaborate with engineering leaders to establish compliant release management processes
Implement SRE practices, including incident response and reliability metrics
Set clear quality gates throughout the SDLC to minimize defects and enhance release confidence
Ensure a security-first approach in infrastructure and release processes
Qualifications
10+ years in software engineering, QA, DevOps, or platform engineering, with 3-5 years in a leadership role
Experience leading QA and DevOps functions with a focus on building high-performing teams
Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and developer experience tooling
Strong background in test strategy and automation across multiple testing frameworks
Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and infrastructure-as-code tools
Experience in regulated environments such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or FDA, with knowledge of compliance requirements
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior leadership
