(Senior) Director, Digital Experience

The Director, Digital Experience is a senior leader responsible for the overall performance, growth, and culture of a Digital Experience team portfolio. This role sets the strategic direction for digital client engagements across their portfolio, champions innovative digital programs, drives team excellence, and serves as a senior leader to their client portfolio. The Director ensures that Digital Experience delivers measurable impact, strong client retention, and continuous innovation across all digital disciplines. The successful candidate will most likely have a strong fundraising background with solid paid media experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Vision
Lead a portfolio of high-value and/or complex client accounts as the senior strategic partner
Hold accountability for overall client satisfaction, retention, and revenue performance across the portfolio
Set the strategic vision for each account and ensure alignment of digital programs to client mission and business goals
Lead senior client presentations, annual reviews, and strategic planning sessions
Executive Client Partnership
Develop sophisticated, integrated digital strategies that span email, CRO, digital media (paid search, paid social, programmatic), texting, and emerging channels
Bring forward-thinking POVs on digital trends, audience behavior, and technology to client engagements
Lead budget development, multi-year projections, and financial reporting at the account level
Lead high-impact client engagements including annual strategy sessions, senior reviews, and renewal negotiations
Represent RKDs digital capabilities and POV with confidence and credibility
Digital Strategy & Program Excellence
Set standards for the development and execution of integrated digital strategies spanning email, CRO, digital media (paid search, paid social, programmatic), texting, and adjacent channels
Drive innovation in digital program design, ensuring RKD stays ahead of channel trends and industry best practices
Oversee portfolio-level performance, ensuring programs deliver against client goals and RKD benchmarks
Oversee budgets, revenue targets, and financial projections across their Digital Experience portfolio
Drive client retention, contract renewals, and scope growth
Cross-Functional & Organizational Leadership
Partner with Pod Managers, department heads (creative, data, technology, media delivery, SEO, organic social, marketing science, direct mail), and senior leadership to drive integrated, high-quality delivery
Identify and champion improvements to cross-functional workflows, tools, and processes
Business Development
Lead or co-lead new business efforts for digital clients, including RFPs, pitches, and proposals
Define and articulate RKDs digital experience value proposition in the market
Grow existing accounts through proactive identification of new service opportunities
Requirements:
Bachelors degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred
7-10 years of experience in digital marketing, with significant leadership experience in an agency setting
Proven success leading integrated digital programs and managing multi-million-dollar account portfolios
Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills
Deep expertise across digital channels including email, paid media, CRO, and texting
Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, projections, and P&

Pay Range expected for the position: $110,000 - $130,000 annually.
