(Senior Manager, Director)

We Are a Mission-Driven Company

Sunlight Financial is a contractor-focused point of sale lender with a relentless focus on providing amazing service and delivering a best-in-class experience to our entire ecosystem. We’re rapidly growing in every home service vertical – Windows, Remodel, HVAC, Roofing, Fencing, and more – and need exceptional talent to help us reach our goals.

Since inception, Sunlight has funded over $12 billion in loans with thousands of high-quality contractors nationwide—and we’re just getting started. We’re looking for passionate, driven teammates to help scale our growing home improvement business.

At Sunlight, we empower our teammates to make a meaningful impact. We’re looking for A players who thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. We're a fast-growing company which means initiatives and strategy can evolve quickly as the business scales. We need teammates who move with that agility instead of resisting it: people who live and breathe an ownership mentality and don't wait to be asked, who take initiative and execute, and who step in on what needs doing even when it's not strictly "theirs."

Our salaries are competitive, our benefits are generous, and our culture is collaborative, connected, and fun.

If this sounds like you and you’d like to come build with us, we’d love to talk to you.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Director of Business Development who will create and own a new contractor account pipeline – building relationships, sourcing new contractor opportunities, and adding new contractors to Sunlight’s platform from the ground up. A strong network in the home services space or the proven ability to generate pipeline in a new industry is vital to success.

You’ll identify and develop high-value opportunities, build relationships with prospective partners, and drive the full lifecycle from initial outreach through successful onboarding. Working across home improvement categories, you’ll build a strong pipeline of new partnerships that contribute to long-term lending volume and growth.

Reporting directly to the VP, Business Development.

Location: Remote or Charlotte, NC

What You’ll Do

Build the East Coast pipeline – Prospect and identify high-value business opportunities across the home improvement market through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, industry events, and more.

Drive new partnership acquisition with medium and large home improvement contractors and other strategic prospects, turning qualified opportunities into new Sunlight partners.

Own the business development process – manage opportunities from initial outreach and discovery through qualification, onboarding, and launch.

Communicate our value – Present Sunlight’s products, programs, and value proposition in a compelling, consultative way that addresses prospective partners needs’ and differentiates us in the market. Articulate with clarity and confidence.

Be creative – Develop innovative ways to engage contractors and solve their pain points.

Manage and prioritize your pipeline – Maintain accurate CRM activity, opportunity stages, next steps and forecasts while focusing time and resources on the opportunities with the greatest potential impact.

Represent the voice of the customer across the organization.

Gather market intelligence and insights as our “boots on the ground.”

Collaborate across the organization – Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other internal teams to create a seamless partner experience and ensure long-term success.

Represent Sunlight in the market – Attend industry events, conferences, and in person meetings to expand Sunlight’s presence across the East Coast market.
