What Our Professionals Are Saying

"While in local government, I had the benefit of working with the former Mayor and Founder of Hagerty Consulting, Steve Hagerty. When looking for a new role, I didn't have to look far for a company where I could continue to support local governments. Now, I serve under our COO, supporting Hagerty’s internal operations. I take pride in improving internal functions as my efforts allow my colleagues to spend their time and energy serving our clients."

"What I love most about my role at Hagerty is the opportunity to truly shape my own journey. I’m able to pursue projects and opportunities that align with my passions and have the potential to shape the future of our industry. The best part? I know I have the full support of my colleagues to help turn those ideas into reality."

"My former boss went to Hagerty and liked it so much he said I had to come work here—three years later, the rest is history! I love my role because I’m able to use my expertise in different ways and mentor younger colleagues. I enjoy helping them discover their passions and find learning opportunities. Hagerty strives to ensure that everyone is on the right project that aligns with their skills."

Partner directly with the CEO and leadership team, translating financial data into strategic guidance and meaningful insights

Qualifications for the Director of Accounting and Finance Include:

At least four (4) years of experience in public accounting (Big Four or national firm preferred)

At least four (4) years of experience in a Controller or senior finance leadership role within a professional services firm

Demonstrated success building or significantly improving financial processes and managing teams in a growing, dynamic organization

Familiarity with revenue recognition in project-based, time and materials (T&M), or consulting models

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of successfully and collaboratively working with executives

CPA (active or inactive) strongly preferred

Compensation for the Director of Accounting and Finance Includes:

Salary range of $170,000 - $200,000 plus 15-20% discretionary bonus. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.

Comprehensive benefits program, including health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending accounts (FSA) for health and transit/parking, short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, sick leave, and more.

We promote equal opportunity in all our employment decisions, including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, compensation, training, promotion, demotion, transfer, lay-off and termination, and all other terms and conditions of employment.
