Job description
Affiliated Advisors | St. Louis Park, Minnesota
Role Purpose
Drive Affiliated Advisors’ growth by recruiting experienced financial advisors and advisory teams who are a strong cultural, compliance, and economic fit—and by building the disciplined process that consistently identifies, advances, and converts those opportunities.
The Director of Advisor Recruiting will own the day-to-day recruiting engine: proactive outreach, relationship development, pipeline management, CRM discipline, reporting, and follow-through. This role will also source and cultivate succession, enterprise-partnership, and strategic M&A opportunities.
Position Summary
Affiliated Advisors helps independent financial advisors build the practices of their dreams. We are seeking a process-driven, relationship-focused Director of Advisor Recruiting to lead a more intentional, visible, and scalable approach to advisor growth.
This is a senior business-development role for someone who can build trusted relationships with experienced advisors while also creating the operating system behind growth. The successful candidate will develop targeted prospect lists, establish a consistent outreach cadence, maintain a continuously active pipeline, and ensure that every qualified opportunity has clear next steps, timely follow-up, and appropriate partner engagement.
The Director of Advisor Recruiting is the single accountable owner of the recruiting process, pipeline, and day-to-day opportunity momentum. Managing Partners will remain involved in pivotal relationships, cultural and economic evaluation, significant deal terms, and final decisions. The Director of Advisor Recruiting will ensure those moments are well prepared and that the overall recruiting process does not depend on any individual partner to drive daily momentum.
Core Responsibilities
Develop and execute Affiliated’s advisor-recruiting strategy, including target markets, ideal advisor and team profiles, outreach plans, activity expectations, and conversion goals.
Build and maintain a continuously active recruiting pipeline of prospective advisors and advisory teams.
Create targeted prospect lists and generate opportunities through referrals, centers of influence, industry events, marketing campaigns, recruiter relationships, and proactive outbound outreach.
Conduct discovery conversations to understand a prospect’s business, growth goals, team structure, succession considerations, pain points, and reasons for considering a move.
Clearly communicate Affiliated’s differentiated value proposition, including operational and compliance support, technology, staff development, practice-growth resources, community, and events.
Guide qualified candidates from initial contact through commitment, coordinating partner meetings, transition economics, compliance review, due diligence, and handoff to onboarding resources.
Build and drive a defined recruiting process, including CRM standards, opportunity stages, outreach cadence, follow-up expectations, meeting preparation, forecasting, and reporting.
Maintain disciplined follow-up and accurate pipeline reporting so leadership has visibility into activity, opportunity quality, stage progression, projected revenue, and barriers to progress.
Identify and cultivate relationships with advisors and firms considering succession, partial liquidity, enterprise partnerships, or potential future M&A transactions.
Develop relationships with wholesalers, consultants, custodians, recruiters, and other referral partners who can surface strategic opportunities.
Prepare Managing Partners for high-value conversations with clear opportunity background, strategic rationale, economics, risks, and recommended next steps.
Partner with Marketing to turn Affiliated’s events, thought leadership, advisor stories, podcast, and community into effective recruiting touchpoints.
Work closely with Operations, Compliance, Technology, and transition resources to ensure an orderly handoff once an advisor commits to Affiliated.
