Job description

Some healthcare organizations simply maintain their technology.

Others use it to transform patient care.

We're partnering with a community-focused health system seeking an experienced healthcare IT leader to oversee the strategy, optimization, and future direction of its clinical and business applications.

This isn't simply an Epic leadership role.

It's an opportunity to influence how technology supports physicians, nurses, and caregivers across an entire organization while building a high-performing applications team and partnering directly with executive leadership.

If you enjoy solving complex operational challenges, mentoring talented teams, and driving meaningful technology initiatives that improve patient care, this is the type of role that doesn't come around often.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

Executive-level visibility with the ability to influence organizational technology strategy.

Lead a talented Applications & Informatics team supporting critical healthcare operations.

Join an organization that has already made significant investments in modernizing its technology environment and continues to invest in the future.

Partner with clinical, operational, and executive leaders to improve workflows, efficiency, and patient outcomes.

Opportunity to build, mentor, and develop the next generation of healthcare IT leaders.

Stable organization with a collaborative leadership culture where ideas are welcomed and leadership is empowered to make decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide strategic leadership for all clinical and business applications.

Lead and develop a team of Applications and Informatics professionals.

Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, finance, and operational leaders to improve technology adoption and workflow efficiency.

Establish application governance, prioritization, and long-term technology roadmaps.

Drive application optimization initiatives that enhance patient care and organizational performance.

Oversee vendor relationships, budgets, project prioritization, and resource planning.

Ensure reliable application performance while balancing innovation with operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in healthcare IT leaders who have successfully led application teams inside hospitals or health systems.

Ideal candidates will bring experience with:

Epic leadership

Clinical Applications

Executive Communication

Operational Excellence

Budget Management

Healthcare Workflow Optimization

Leadership experience is every bit as important as technical expertise.

What Makes Someone Successful Here

You're someone who naturally builds relationships across clinical and operational departments.

You understand that successful healthcare technology isn't measured by software implementations - it's measured by how well caregivers can deliver exceptional patient care.

You enjoy mentoring teams, influencing strategy, and creating long-term improvements rather than simply keeping the lights on.

If you've been looking for an opportunity where your voice will matter and your leadership will shape the future of healthcare technology, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
