Role Description
The Director of Business Development is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for driving growth and expanding Verus Title’s presence in the real estate market. This role focuses on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building relationships with real estate professionals, lenders, and other partners, and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective clients. Day-to-day activities include developing and executing business development strategies, managing key accounts, overseeing lead generation initiatives, and negotiating contracts to secure long-term partnerships. The Director collaborates with internal teams to align business development efforts with operational capabilities and to ensure a high-quality client experience. This position also involves monitoring market trends, providing input on business planning, and representing the company at industry events and meetings.
Qualifications
Strong New Business Development and Lead Generation skills, with a proven ability to identify, qualify, and convert opportunities.
Experience in Business Planning, including creating and implementing growth strategies and revenue forecasts.
Proficiency in Contract Negotiation, with the capability to structure, review, and finalize agreements that support sustainable partnerships.
Account Management skills, including maintaining relationships, ensuring client satisfaction, and supporting retention and expansion.
Background in real estate, title, lending, or related professional services is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills, including mentoring team members and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
