Job description
A growing U.S.-based precious metal casting house is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to expand our domestic and international customer base.
We specialize in commercial-scale casting of gold, platinum and silver for the jewelry industry and are looking for an established industry professional who can develop significant, recurring casting relationships with jewelry manufacturers, wholesalers, brands and other high-volume customers.
This is not a general sales position. We are specifically seeking someone with experience and established relationships within the jewelry manufacturing, precious metals or related industries who understands how business is done in this market.
Responsibilities
Develop new high-volume gold, platinum and silver casting accounts
Leverage existing industry relationships to generate new business
Prospect and develop relationships with jewelry manufacturers, wholesalers, brands and other commercial-scale customers
Expand the company's business with both domestic and international customers
Attend major jewelry trade shows and industry events to develop new relationships and generate business
Proactively schedule customer and prospect meetings before and during trade shows
Manage opportunities from initial introduction through pricing, sampling, onboarding and production
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of recurring casting volume
Develop long-term relationships with key accounts and identify opportunities to increase their production volume
Work directly with company leadership on major accounts, pricing and strategic opportunities
Compensation
$80,000–$120,000 base salary + uncapped performance-based compensation, depending on experience, industry relationships and existing book of business.
The compensation structure will meaningfully reward new recurring casting volume and long-term account development, with significant upside for a successful producer.
We are also open to an independent contractor/1099 arrangement for an established industry professional who prefers a more entrepreneurial, commission-driven structure.
The Opportunity

We are seeking someone who can combine an existing industry network with active business development—leveraging established relationships, developing new accounts and representing the company at major jewelry industry events.
Ideal Candidate
Established relationships within the jewelry manufacturing industry
Prior sales or business development experience in jewelry casting, jewelry manufacturing, refining, precious metals, findings, diamonds or a closely related industry
Strong understanding of jewelry manufacturing and the commercial casting process
Proven ability to develop and close meaningful B2B accounts
Existing relationships with jewelry manufacturers, wholesalers and brands are highly desirable
Comfortable working directly with owners, executives and senior decision-makers
Strong communication, relationship-building and follow-up skills
Willing to travel to major domestic and international jewelry trade shows
Entrepreneurial, self-directed and motivated by building a substantial book of business
