Job description
A private equity backed healthcare technology company is seeking a Director, Business Operations & Strategy to join its executive team during a period of significant growth and transformation. The company combines an AI-enabled data platform with deep domain expertise to help health plans across the country make healthcare payment faster and more accurate. It operates with the scale of an established leader and the pace of a growth-stage business.
Situation / Need
The company is bringing multiple established businesses onto a unified platform under a multi-year value creation plan, with M&A still active. This is a high-priority hire to own Board and sponsor materials, drive executive accountability, and turn strategy into measurable execution.
Role Overview
The Director will work directly with the CEO and report to a C-suite leader, sitting at the center of the executive operating model. This is a builder role rather than an advisory one: the Director writes the analysis, builds the slides, and personally drives decisions to closure. The role offers a clear path to Chief of Staff or VP-level responsibility.
Mandate / Key Responsibilities
Partner directly with the CEO, Board of Directors, and private equity sponsor on strategy and execution
Lead Board decks, sponsor updates, and investor presentations from raw inputs to finished, fully sourced material
Drive M&A strategy, including investment theses, diligence, synergy analysis, and post-close value capture
Write decision memos that frame options, trade-offs, and a clear recommendation
Own cross-functional problems with no natural owner and drive them to a decision
Run the executive operating cadence, including leadership agendas, commitment tracking, and the quarterly OKR cycle
Set the standard for AI-enabled executive work through repeatable workflows, with every number verified and sourced
Required Experience
7–12 years of experience, including 3+ years in top-tier management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or corporate strategy, or Chief of Staff experience alongside a CEO
Direct experience working with a CEO, C-suite, or Board
Proven ownership of Board- or investor-level materials
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, and exceptional, conclusion-first writing
Daily use of AI tools to produce executive work product
Ability to influence across functions without formal authority, with discretion on sensitive information
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Preferred Experience
MBA or equivalent analytical training
Private equity backed company experience, including sponsor reporting
M&A or post-acquisition integration experience
Healthcare payer, health technology, or healthcare data experience
This role is fully onsite in Dallas, Texas, with approximately 10–20% travel aligned to Board and leadership meeting cycles.
Compensation
Wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions. Exact compensation may vary based on factors including skills, experience, certification, license and location. A reasonable estimate of current compensation is $190,000+ base salary.
