Director of Electrical Engineering & Design
A rapidly growing owner and operator of mission-critical infrastructure is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering & Design to lead the organization's electrical engineering strategy, technical standards, and design execution across a portfolio of complex data center projects. This is an opportunity to join a highly visible leadership team and play a key role in supporting next-generation digital infrastructure and high-density computing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical engineering and design efforts for mission-critical infrastructure projects
Provide technical direction and organizational leadership while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
Collaborate closely with construction, operations, commissioning, controls, and supply chain teams
Oversee capacity planning, UPS strategies, emergency power systems, and power system studies
Manage external engineering consultants, architects, and design partners
Review equipment selections, technical submittals, and engineering deliverables
Support projects from design and construction through commissioning and turnover
Drive departmental performance, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
PE license in Electrical Engineering
10+ years of experience in mission-critical, colocation, or data center design environments
Demonstrated success leading technical teams and managing engineering consultants
Strong expertise in medium and low-voltage power distribution, UPS systems, grounding, and critical electrical infrastructure
Experience supporting high-density compute environments, including GPU and liquid-cooled deployments
Proven leadership, project management, budgeting, and vendor management capabilities
