Job description

Lead the financial strategy behind care that this community counts on.

Gallup Community Health is looking for a Finance Director to serve as our senior financial leader — a CFO-scope role reporting to the Executive Director and partnering directly with the Board’s Finance Committee. If you want your financial expertise to translate into more access, more services, and a stronger safety net, this is that job.

What you’ll do

Own the full financial picture: budgeting, forecasting, cash management, monthly close, and Board-level reporting

Lead FQHC-specific finance — PPS/wrap reconciliation, Medicaid and Medicare cost reports, sliding fee scale, 340B program economics, and payer contracting

Manage Section 330 grant budgets, drawdowns, and compliance; support UDS reporting and HRSA operational site visits

Direct the annual audit and Single Audit (Uniform Guidance), and keep us clean and audit-ready year-round

Build and mentor the accounting, billing, and revenue cycle team

Bring the numbers into strategy — service line expansion, capital projects, grant opportunities, and long-range planning

What you bring

Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA/MHA strongly preferred

3+ years of progressive financial leadership, ideally in an FQHC, community health center, or nonprofit healthcare setting

Working knowledge of FQHC reimbursement, federal grant compliance, and nonprofit accounting (GAAP, fund accounting)

A collaborative communicator — comfortable with clinicians, Board members, and auditors alike

Genuine commitment to the mission of community health

What we offer

Competitive salary commensurate with experience

Full medical, dental, and vision; 403b with employer match

weeks PTO plus holidays and professional development support

Relocation assistance available

A seat at the leadership table and the autonomy to build the finance function the right way

Life in northwest New Mexico — high desert, wide skies, and a community worth investing in
