Job description

Workiva is at a pivotal moment. With $1B+ in revenue and a dynamic global team, we are designing our Total Rewards infrastructure to match our scale. We are looking for a Director of Global Benefits to act as the architect of our health, wellness, and retirement programs worldwide.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Total Rewards, you will be a key member of the People & Culture leadership team. You won't just manage plans; you will define the Workiva benefits philosophy, ensuring our benefits are a competitive advantage that reflects our commitment to employee wellbeing.

The Impact You’ll Have

Global Strategy & Governance: Design and implement a multi-year global benefits roadmap that aligns with our corporate culture and financial objectives.

Executive Partnership: Act as a strategic advisor to regional HR leaders and Executive stakeholders, providing data-driven insights into benefit trends and cost-mitigation strategies.

Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and develop a high-performing team (currently including an American benefits manager and a benefits analyst.), fostering a culture of professional growth and operational excellence.

Fiscal Stewardship: Direct the global benefits budget, leading high-stakes negotiations with brokers and carriers to optimize our "spend-to-value" ratio.

Modernization & Innovation: Drive the evolution of our benefits technology stack (Workday) and wellness offerings, ensuring they meet the needs of a diverse global workforce.

Who You Are

The Strategist: You don't just look at next year’s renewal; you look at the 3-year trend. You understand how benefits impact the P&L and employee retention.

The Globalist: You have deep experience navigating the statutory complexities of the Americas, Europe and APAC while maintaining a cohesive global identity.

The Leader: You have a proven track record of managing senior-level individual contributors and helping them "level up" their own strategic thinking.

The Communicator: You can take complex actuarial data and turn it into a compelling narrative for the executive team.

Qualifications

Experience: 10+ years in Total Rewards/Benefits, with at least 5 years in a people manager leadership role within a global, public company (SaaS experience preferred).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or a related field.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of global benefit regulations and significant experience with Workday or similar enterprise HCM systems.

Consultative Approach: Exceptional ability to influence without authority and build strong partnerships across Finance, Legal, and regional People & Culture teams.

How You’ll Be Rewarded

✅ Salary range in the US: $154,000.00 - $250,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package
