To support that growth, Almaden is seeking a technology leader to join a highly motivated, cohesive senior management team and bring practical business-systems leadership to a fast-paced organization.
Role Overview
The Director/VP, IT and Business Systems will serve as Almaden’s internal technology point person and business-systems leader. This is a hands-on, generalist role for a leader who can operate as the “point guard” across the company’s technology ecosystem: translating business needs into technology priorities, coordinating vendors and outsourced specialists, and ensuring systems work is executed with urgency, discipline, and accountability.
The role is designed for someone who can scale a pragmatic, vendor-enabled technology model. Rather than building a large internal function, Almaden expects this leader to create structure, strengthen vendor performance, improve responsiveness, and bring in targeted external expertise when specialized work is needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage outsourced IT providers, consultants, software partners, and technology vendors, including service levels, cost, response times, issue resolution, and escalation.
• Own the IT roadmap, priorities, open issues, project status, vendor performance, and technology-related business decisions.
• Support software selection, system optimization, implementation planning, requirements gathering, vendor comparisons, and rollout coordination.
• Improve day-to-day IT support, hardware procurement, onboarding/offboarding, user access, licensing, device management, and support processes.
• Coordinate external specialists for infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems integration, ERP/CRM support, portal systems, reporting, and project work.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and senior leadership to improve business systems, workflow, reporting, and technology execution.
Ideal Background
• 10+ years in IT, business systems, technology operations, systems implementation, IT project management, or related roles.
• Experience managing outsourced IT providers, external consultants, contractors, software vendors, or managed service partners.
• Broad working knowledge of business systems, infrastructure, hardware, software selection, cybersecurity basics, Microsoft 365, user support, licensing, and access management.
• Experience in a mid-sized business, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, print, promotional products, fulfillment, e-commerce, or other operationally complex environment preferred.
• Strong project-management, vendor-management, communication, and follow-through skills.
