Rochester, NY. This is primarily an on-site opportunity offering close collaboration with leadership and technical teams.
Note
We are seeking a USPTO-registered Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with 5+ years of relevant intellectual property experience. Strong patent prosecution and IP portfolio management experience is essential. Both patent agents and attorneys are encouraged to apply.

Job Description
Lead and manage our intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
Develop and execute IP strategies that protect innovations and support long-term business growth.
Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. patent applications, including preparing responses to USPTO Office Actions.
Coordinate international patent filings, PCT applications, and foreign patent counsel.
Partner with engineers and technical teams to identify patentable inventions and protect emerging technologies.
Oversee patent renewals, portfolio maintenance, IP budgets, and intellectual property enforcement.
Support licensing agreements, technology partnerships, and IP-related contractual matters.
Advise senior leadership on intellectual property risks, opportunities, and strategic decisions.
Qualifications
4+ years of relevant patent prosecution or intellectual property portfolio management experience.
Active USPTO registration as a Patent Agent or Patent Attorney.
Hands-on experience drafting patent applications and responding to USPTO Office Actions.
Strong understanding of patent portfolio management, intellectual property protection, and U.S. patent procedures.
Experience with international patent prosecution or PCT filings is preferred.
Mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or manufacturing-related experience is a plus.
Strong communication, organizational, and independent decision-making skills.
