Director of Labor and Delivery, Women’s Services
Location: Hickory, NC
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $100k – $137k
Sign‑On Bonus: $10k
Relocation Bonus: $5k
Overview: Our client, a leading healthcare system, is seeking a Director of Women’s Services to oversee the Labor and Delivery Unit, Postpartum, and Nursery/NICU Units. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director is responsible for ensuring high‑quality, safe, and effective nursing care. The role includes accountability for staff clinical competency, resource management, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 leadership and oversight for all unit operations.
Develop and implement strategic and operational goals that align with organizational objectives.
Manage staff activities, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
Ensure all nursing practices meet compliance standards and integrate evidence‑based practices.
Oversee budgeting and financial management to maintain operational efficiency.
Enhance patient care experience and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism.
Qualifications
Active RN license in North Carolina.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred); Master’s degree highly preferred.
Minimum 5 years of RN experience with at least 2 years in a management role.
Required certifications: BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP).
The Director of Women’s Services will play a crucial role in mentoring staff, leading quality improvement initiatives and ensuring excellence in patient care across the units they oversee. This position calls for a dedicated leader with proven hospital operational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
