Overview
The Director of Nursing manages and directs resident care within the nursing department in-order to maintain resident standards of care and ensure that each resident functions at his/her highest level.

Responsibilities
Coordinates resident care through departmental and appropriate staff committee meetings
Ensures that staffing is adequate to meet State and Federal requirements
Guides nursing department in adherence to all state and federal regulations
Evaluates and disciplines nursing personnel according to HCF policy
Supervises the maintenance of nursing and medical treatments and related services executed by nursing personnel
Participates in the QA process
Ensures availability of nursing supplies and equipment
Assumes responsibility for maintaining his/her own professional competence
Verifies that the nursing personnel have valid and current licenses as required by the State in which they work
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing. Current license as a Registered Nurse with the State Board of Nursing. CPR certification recommended.
