Job description
Lead with purpose. Help families across the Quad Cities age with dignity at home.
Every day, families in our community face one of life’s hardest questions: how do we care for someone we love as they grow older? For most, the answer is simple. They want to stay home, surrounded by the people, routines, and memories that make life their own.
That’s where we come in. At Home Instead, our Care Professionals make it possible for older adults to live safely and independently at home. They also give families peace of mind knowing their loved one is in good hands. The work is personal, it’s meaningful, and it has never been more important.
More Americans are reaching retirement age than at any point in our history, and the need for trusted in‑home care is growing every year. Home care is one of the most essential industries in the country, and the leaders who shape it are shaping how an entire generation will age.
We’re looking for that kind of leader.
As Director of Operations, you’ll lead our Moline and Bettendorf offices. You’ll set the direction, develop a strong leadership team, and grow our ability to serve more families across the Quad Cities. We need a leader who is equally strong in operations and sales: someone who loves building relationships, opening doors in the community, and growing the business. This role is designed for an experienced operator who wants to grow with us, with a clear path to VP of Operations as the organization expands.
The Difference You’ll Make
Ensure hundreds of older adults receive safe, compassionate, reliable care in their own homes
Build a workplace where Care Professionals feel valued, supported, and proud of what they do
Develop the leaders who will carry our mission forward for years to come
Reach more families who need care by growing our presence and partnerships across the Quad Cities
Strengthen our partnerships with hospitals, physicians, and senior living communities so no family has to navigate aging alone
What You’ll Do
Lead both offices, with full accountability for operations, financial performance, and culture
Own the P&L, budget, and annual business plan for each franchise
Coach and develop office leaders, and build a bench that can support future growth
Lead sales and business development, with ownership of census and revenue growth for both offices
Coach the sales team on referral development, inquiry handling, and converting inquiries into clients
Personally build relationships with hospitals, discharge planners, physicians, and senior living communities
Maintain high standards for service quality, staffing stability, and compliance in both Illinois and Iowa
Partner directly with ownership as the senior operating leader of the business
What You Bring
7+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 5+ in home care, home health, hospice, senior living, or a related healthcare service
3+ years leading multiple locations or managing other managers
A proven record of driving sales and census growth, including building referral pipelines and leading business development teams
Proven P&L ownership and a track record of profitable growth
Strong financial acumen, sound judgment, and high emotional intelligence
A genuine heart for serving older adults and their families
Strongly Preferred
Franchise experience, ideally in home care
Familiarity with Illinois IDPH and Iowa DIAL home care requirements
Existing relationships with referral sources and senior living communities in the Quad Cities
What We Offer
Competitive base salary, based on experience
Performance incentives tied to growth and financial resultsMedical, dental, and vision insurance
PTO and paid holidays
401(k) match after 30 days
Direct access to ownership and a real path to VP of Operations
The chance to do work that matters, every single day
Why This Role Matters
Most jobs measure success in numbers alone. This one also measures it in the daughter who can finally sleep at night, the veteran who gets to stay in the home he built, and the caregiver who found a career she’s proud of. If you’re a proven leader looking for work that means something, we’d like to talk with you.
QC Senior Care Inc. DBA Home Instead is an equal opportunity employer. Each Home Instead franchise office is independently owned and operated.
