Job Title: Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Consultant
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM
Start: August 31 (or ASAP)
Specialty Medical Staffing is currently hiring an Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Consultant for an acute care hospital in the Fort Myers, FL area. This interim leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced hospital pharmacist with strong management skills who is comfortable overseeing pharmacy operations, preparing for accreditation surveys, and supporting clinical pharmacy services.
This assignment will continue until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired.
Start Date: August 31 (or ASAP)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM
Licensed Beds: 25
Average Daily Census: Approximately 20 patients plus outpatient infusion services
Order Entry System: CPSI (training provided)
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Interim Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), and Pharmacy Consultant.
Provide pharmacy leadership and operational oversight.
Assist with accreditation readiness, including preparation for upcoming Joint Commission (TJC) surveys.
Oversee pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Support Clinical Pharmacy Agreement (CPA) initiatives.
Assist with 340B program oversight and compliance.
Provide limited pharmacist staffing support as needed.
Collaborate with pharmacy staff and hospital leadership to ensure safe and efficient pharmacy operations.
Support sterile compounding services as needed (primary compounding performed by pharmacy technicians).
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy management experience preferred
Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred
IV and sterile compounding knowledge
Ability to work independently in an interim leadership role
