Job description
Effectively manages and implements policies and programs as they relate to food safety, quality, and defense. The Director will serve as liaison among production, purchasing, and R&D departments to insure all specifications are pertinent, accurate, and followed. This position will work closely with senior management to maintain impeccable quality and cleanliness standards on an audit ready every day basis.

Responsibilities
Mentor and manage 2 QA Managers directly, and a team of Quality Coordinators and Auditors
Regularly review and improve quality systems, maintain existing quality programs
Review, maintain and monitor Food Safety Plans and HACCP Programs at the facilities.
Manage department KPIs and budgets.
Builds and maintains customer relationships in regards to food safety and quality.
Work with cross functional departments to confirm that the facilities have the necessary FSQA processes to ensure all customer specifications are achieved.
Provide guidance and training related to FSQA.
Coordinate and collaborate with cross functional managers and Directors to provide support during deficiencies and conduct root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
Coordinate and collaborate with cross functional managers and Directors to maintain accurate inventory through the management of holds, WIP, expired inventory and obsolete inventory.
Prepare and lead external and internal audits.
Track, trend and respond to customer complaints based on plant investigation.
Coordinates and conducts trace exercises and mock recalls.
Manage customer websites in regards to request for information and complaints.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in food science or related field.
10+ years of supervisory food quality control and quality assurance experience in a Bakery manufacturing environment.
Extensive experience with HACCP programs.
Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance and quality control programs.
Evidence of regulatory and food safety and defense knowledge and experience.
A strong desire to be a significant contributor to a fast paced growth strategy.
Effective communicator with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
A strategic thinker with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
