Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Rehabilitation to lead and oversee our comprehensive rehabilitation services. In this pivotal role, you will champion patient-centered care by managing clinical teams, ensuring compliance with rehabilitation regulations, and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes excellence in rehabilitation medicine. Responsibilities
Lead and manage the rehabilitation department, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other clinical staff, to deliver high-quality patient care.
Develop, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation programs tailored to individual patient needs, emphasizing physiotherapy, patient rehabilitation techniques, and disability management.
Ensure compliance with all rehabilitation regulations, safety standards, and best practices in long-term care, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation centers.
Oversee clinical team leadership by providing mentorship, training on anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, manual handling techniques, and heavy lifting safety protocols.
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate seamless patient care transitions across acute care settings and long-term care facilities.
Maintain thorough documentation of patient progress and treatment plans while ensuring adherence to healthcare policies and regulations.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by integrating evidence-based practices for patients with visual impairments or other disabilities requiring specialized rehabilitation services.
Requirements
Extensive experience in rehabilitation medicine with a strong background in physiotherapy and patient care management.
Proven leadership skills in clinical team supervision within skilled nursing facilities or rehabilitation centers.
In-depth knowledge of rehabilitation regulations, safety standards including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and basic life support protocols.
Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities or visual impairments; familiarity with anatomy and physiology is essential.
Strong understanding of heavy lifting techniques and manual handling safety procedures in a healthcare environment.
Prior experience in long-term care or acute care settings is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and patients alike.
