About the opportunity
Our client, an established and growing technology-driven organization in Central Pennsylvania, is hiring a Director of Software Engineering to build and lead an engineering team delivering modern digital products.

This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership. You will lead four feature teams, and shape how engineering is structured, hired and developed. You'll partner closely with Product and a dedicated architecture leader.
What you'll do
Own engineering delivery from roadmap through release
Lead, coach and grow feature teams
Hire and develop talent and set the engineering practices and standards
Partner with Product, Architecture and business leaders on priorities and technical direction
Drive practical adoption of AI across the product and the engineering lifecycle
What you bring
Experience leading product engineering teams within a SaaS environment
Proven people leadership: hiring, developing leaders and managing performance
Strong technical credibility across cloud-native architecture, APIs and event-driven systems
Comfort with a modern stack: Java and Spring Boot, TypeScript and React, Kafka, AWS and xzgxqkn Kubernetes (adjacent backends welcome)
Clear, concise communication with both technical and executive audiences
Senior Engineering Managers ready for their first Director role are encouraged to apply
