Job description
This Director of Strategy & Operations will serve as the de facto Chief of Staff to Empire’s Chief Growth and Marketing Officer, driving strategy, prioritization, alignment, and planning across all key Growth and Marketing initiatives. This leader will work with stakeholders across the Chief Growth and Marketing Officer organization to develop and implement plans that move the business forward. The role is not only critical to delivering the best possible experience for Empire’s customers, but also instrumental in helping the company continually achieve high levels of efficiency, growth, innovation, and employee engagement.

Compensation
$165K- $195K annually plus bonus
Responsibilities
Drive the cross-functional strategic planning process across Growth, Marketing, and Customer Experience, including defining goals and metrics, setting priorities, and determining the right investments in resources and technology.
Work with leaders across the Growth and Marketing organization to drive performance across the customer journey, from first impression through booked appointment to completed installation, including diagnosing performance, prioritizing actions, keeping the team focused on the right things, and tracking progress and results.
Lead project management of cross-functional teams in support of growth and marketing initiative development, execution, and ongoing evaluation.
Partner with the Chief Growth and Marketing Officer in the preparation of materials for the Executive Team or Board of Directors on growth, brand, and customer experience strategy and performance.
Operate with high flexibility: a strong independent worker who can also exert influence, work on the front line of strategic opportunities, and execute against leadership’s vision in-market.
Serve as a resource to Empire’s broader Strategy and Business Development efforts, evaluating new areas for investment from a growth, brand, and customer experience perspective.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
2–5 years of relevant professional experience in strategy/management consulting.
4–7 years of experience in strategic planning at the intersection of growth, customer experience, and technology, including a strong element of project management.
At least 3-5 years of experience working on and driving highly visible, highly impactful cross-functional projects.
Must be intellectually curious, inquisitive, thoughtful, and a good listener.
Must demonstrate critical thinking skills with an ability to creatively develop varied solution sets to multidimensional problems.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task several complex projects with the flexibility to be proactive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to lead through influence as well as collaborate across functional areas.
Resourceful and motivated self-starter.
Analytical & Word Processing Skills:Must demonstrate advanced command of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) at the level of business case model building and preparing written memos and presentations for an executive-level audience.
Presentation & Communication Skills: Must be able to (i) communicate (both written and oral) in a clear, concise, articulate fashion and (ii) when presenting work, demonstrate clear, concise articulation of proposed actions, illustrating opportunity, alternatives, considerations, recommendations, and associated economics.
This is a hybrid role, which requires regular presence in the office. If not located in the Chicagoland area, regular travel will be required.
