Job description
The Director of SUNY IT Optimization and Engagement leads project and portfolio management across the SUNY Office of Information Technology, reporting to the Chief Information Officer.
The role establishes project management policies, maintains oversight of the IT project portfolio, and coordinates SUNY's Digital Transformation Projects across 64 campuses and hospitals.
The Director provides strategic reporting to leadership on project status, risks, and alignment with SUNY's mission of affordable, high-quality higher education.
5+ years leading large government teams or units
3+ years in senior leadership managing cross-functional teams
8-10 years managing large-scale, complex digital transformation or modernization initiatives
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with analytical problem-solving abilities
Proven record of effective leadership, team collaboration, and executive reporting
Bachelor's degree required
