# Director, OperationsHot JobHomewood Central - Homewood, AL 35209## DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Operations Director of Ancillary Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, financial performance, and growth of all ancillary service lines within the urology practice. This role oversees the day-to-day operations and long-term strategic growth of ancillary departments including, but not limited to, imaging, radiation oncology, infusion, interventional radiology, chronic care management, clinical research, and other revenue-producing service lines.The Director partners closely with physicians, executive leadership, clinical managers, and external vendors to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, exceptional patient experiences, and achievement of financial objectives. This leadership position plays a critical role in expanding ancillary revenue, optimizing workflows, and supporting the organization's strategic growth initiatives.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership* Direct and oversee the operations of all ancillary service departments.* Develop and implement operational strategies that support organizational goals and physician initiatives.* Standardize processes, workflows, and performance expectations across ancillary service lines.* Ensure efficient scheduling, staffing, patient flow, and utilization of resources.* Lead operational improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and patient satisfaction.* Monitor service line performance and implement corrective action plans as needed.Financial Management* Develop and manage departmental budgets and financial forecasts.* Analyze revenue cycle performance, reimbursement trends, and profitability of ancillary services.* Monitor key financial metrics including access, volume, revenue, expenses, contribution margin, and EBITDA.* Identify opportunities to improve service line profitability and operational efficiency.* Collaborate with finance leadership regarding budgeting, capital expenditures, and business planning.Strategic Growth and Business Development* Identify opportunities for expansion of ancillary services and new revenue streams.* Conduct market analyses and business case evaluations for prospective services and investments.* Participate in strategic planning and physician engagement initiatives.* Support acquisitions, integrations, practice growth, and service line development projects.* Recommend innovative solutions to improve patient access and organizational performance.Team Leadership and Development* Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing management and support staff.* Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for department managers and supervisors.* Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and patient-centered care.* Ensure staff receive appropriate training, certifications, and professional development opportunities.* Lead regular departmental meetings and communicate organizational objectives effectively.Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.* Maintain adherence to CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, accreditation standards, and payer requirements.* Develop and monitor quality assurance programs and performance improvement initiatives.* Coordinate audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.* Promote patient safety and risk management practices throughout ancillary operations.Physician and Stakeholder Collaboration* Partner with physicians to optimize clinical and operational outcomes.* Serve as a key liaison between ancillary departments, providers, executive leadership, and external partners.* Present operational, financial, and strategic performance reports to leadership teams.* Facilitate physician engagement in service line growth and process improvement initiatives.Performance Monitoring and Reporting* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for ancillary services.* Develop dashboards and reporting tools to measure productivity, patient satisfaction, quality, and financial performance.* Utilize data analytics to drive operational decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.* Present recommendations based on data-driven analysis.## QualificationsRequired Education* Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Finance, or related field.Preferred Education* Master’s degree in healthcare administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or related discipline.Required Experience* Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience.
