Job description

Director, Project Development - Combined Cycle | Greater Boston, MA | $200K-$225K Base + 30% Bonus

Have you taken a power project all the way through financial close and into construction? If so, this one is worth a conversation.

The Role:

A leading US IPP, backed by strong institutional financial partners, is hiring a Director to lead greenfield development of dispatchable generation and energy transition projects, including gas-fired, hydrogen and carbon capture. You'll own projects from site selection through permitting, commercial agreements and financial close, handing over shovel-ready projects to construction.

Day to day, you'll negotiate development and offtake agreements, run the permitting process, build local community support, lead title curative work, and direct external consultants alongside internal engineering, finance, origination, legal and asset management teams. You'll also manage financing workstreams, including independent engineer oversight, due diligence and lender presentations.

Must Haves:

Proven track record taking at least one energy project through FINANCIAL CLOSE and/or into construction (non-negotiable)

Full-lifecycle development experience on large utility-scale or energy projects

Strong working knowledge of US power markets, ISOs and their operating rules

Familiarity with the incentives driving energy development (IRA, 45V, 45Q, etc.)

Solid grasp of real estate and land matters

Nice To Haves:

Combined cycle or other thermal generation development experience

Exposure to hydrogen or CCS projects

Direct experience managing lenders, independent engineers and due diligence processes

Existing relationships with offtakers, utilities or local stakeholders in ISO-NE, PJM or ERCOT

Why This Role:

Lead the next wave of reliable, dispatchable US generation, not just renewables at the margin

Direct line to the SVP, Development with real ownership of projects

$200K-$225K base plus up to 30% bonus

100% company-paid medical, dental and vision, 401(k) with 100% match up to 6%, 120 hours PTO plus 13 paid holidays, parental leave

Established company with the capital and partnerships to actually get projects built
