Job description
Paragon Capital Group Remote (US) or hybrid in New York City
$160,000 – $190,000
About Paragon Capital Group
Paragon Capital Group is an EB-5 regional center and real estate lender. We raise capital via EB-5 offerings and deploy it as construction loans to U.S. real estate developers. We have placed capital on behalf of more than 500 investors and maintain a 100% approval record on investor petitions at the final stage of the immigration process.
We are a partner-led firm with a team that spans United States, China, Taiwan and Vietnam. The successful candidate for this role will fill a critical seat on our leadership team.
The Role
The Director of Fund Operations owns the operational infrastructure of our funds: loan servicing and portfolio reporting, construction draw administration, investor operations, and execution of our compliance program. The role reports to the Managing Partner and works closely with both partners, our Head of Finance, and a bench of external professionals.
This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of its function and two direct reports at the outset. The successful candidate will formalize existing processes, identify and fill gaps, and grow the team as the portfolio expands.
Key responsibilities
Loan servicing and portfolio reporting
Interest billing, collection and payment tracking across the loan portfolio
Borrower reporting requirements and covenant compliance monitoring
Risk rating and watchlist review, with escalation to the partners
Payoff processing and collateral release coordination
Establishing documented, repeatable cycles for all of the above
Construction draw administration
Intake and completeness review of borrower draw packages
Coordination with the independent construction monitor and review of inspection reports
Lien waiver, title endorsement and insurance certificate tracking
Budget, change order and contingency analysis
Draw recommendations to the Managing Partner, who holds approval authority
Investor operations and reporting
Subscription intake, investor onboarding, identity and source-of-funds documentation
Escrow coordination and capital account maintenance
Quarterly investor statements, project updates and distribution processing
Evidence packages supporting investor immigration petitions, including job creation tracking and documentation
Compliance program execution
Filing calendar management and regulatory deadline tracking
File structure, checklists, evidence templates and records retention
Day-to-day coordination with our outside compliance consultant
Execution under the Managing Partner, who holds compliance authority and certifies all filings
Project-level regulatory filings required before capital can be raised for a new transaction
Coordination of immigration counsel, economists, sponsor business plans and offering document production to a filing deadline
Loan closing coordination and closing binder management
Qualifications
Prior EB-5 experience is not required. We welcome candidates from the following backgrounds:
Loan servicing, asset management or fund administration at a real estate debt fund, bridge lender or private credit manager — the closest match to our immediate priorities
Private fund operations at a real estate or credit manager, including subscriptions, capital accounts, investor reporting and fund administrator oversight
Construction lending at a bank or debt fund, with draw administration and third-party monitor experience
EB-5 regional centers or EB-5 fund administrators , seeking broader portfolio and transaction exposure
EB-5 immigration law firms — senior case managers or paralegals with investor petition pipeline experience, looking to move to the principal side
Required:
Demonstrated ownership of a recurring operational cycle, with a record of improving its reliability
Experience operating as the sole owner of a function, without direct process supervision
Strong written communication; this role produces documents reviewed by regulators, auditors and investors' counsel
Rigorous attention to deadlines and documentation, in a context where errors carry consequences for investors' immigration outcomes
Ability to hold counterparties to documentation and reporting requirements
Location: Remote within the United States, or hybrid for candidates in the New York City area. Relocation is not required.
Travel: Occasional, for project sites, industry conferences and team meetings.
Compensation: $160,000 – $190,000 base salary depending on experience, Health insurance, 401(k) and paid time off.
