Job description
The Lead Disassembly Technician oversees and participates in the disassembly, removal, and tagging of aircraft components in accordance with company, FAA, and OEM standards. This position ensures that all disassembly activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with procedures, while leading and mentoring a team of technicians to meet production goals and quality requirements.
Lead a team of disassembly technicians to safely disassembly/removal of parts/components from various aircrafts and that these are clearly labelled/documented
Ensure all work is completed following company policies, maintenance manuals, and safety standards. Coordinate workflow, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet project schedules and customer requirements.
Perform inspections of parts and assemblies to ensure proper tagging, documentation, and inventory tracking.
Maintain accurate records of removed components, serial numbers, and condition reports.
Communicate with Quality, Warehouse, and Logistics teams regarding parts disposition and material handling.
Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self & others to ensure all duties are performed within established safety guidelines
Train and mentor new technicians in proper disassembly procedures and tool usage.
Ensure work areas are organized, clean, and compliant with environmental and safety regulations.
Report any discrepancies, damage, or unsafe conditions immediately to management.
Work in conjunction with other functional teams, ensuring that the resources required to support the projects are in place
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, disassembly, or related field (A&P license preferred but not required).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic understanding of aircraft systems and structures
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings
Familiarity with FAA regulations.
